I have been making films of the built environment as cinematic commentary on architecture, landscapes and urban areas.
My instinct often is to try to find an element in the life of a place and to build the story about design around it. In the case of Erasmus Bridge Film the action in the center of the film is the social protest on the bridge. In Boijmans Depot Film it is the skaters and dancers using the public park around it.

I have started developing the short video format of the built environment through my on-going project Rotterdam, Non-fiction, which is a series of short films on the lives of buildings and urban life in Rotterdam.
With each film I use the camera to explore what moments does certain spaces deliver to the life around them.
