REFLECTIONS

REFLECTIES is an immersive audio-visual experience featuring three video installations across ten screens at the RADIUS kunstcentrum in Delft. This 500 sqm radial space, once a water basin, has been transformed into an engaging environment where visitors are encouraged to explore and interact with different aspects of the installation. The project serves as a cinematic reflection on eight buildings designed by the Delft-based architecture firm DP6, including a bridge, a school, a house, a social housing block, and an art center. Through extensive observations captured by a small film crew, the installation delves into the themes of senses, connections, and values.

The exhibition is conceptualized as an exhibition wherein the bodily movement of the visitor decides the speed of the experience.

The music is composed as one continuous track that is divided to various speakers positioned next to each screen. The song progresses as one moves from one screen to another inside the historical water depot.

Spending a full day at each location, you get an acute sense of the rituals of the space. A school or a film theater breathes in and out depending on the schedules of the program, while, a house life is bound to the momentary mood of its resident. A bridge may look like a transitionary space in first glance, but there are also moments when it becomes a destination for people to meet and observe the life passing by.
Architecture inspires rituals, sometimes in unexpected ways, often without us being conscious of it and in this video installation they take the central stage.
